Financial Research Suite is a business. Our Everyday tools are free with no ads, and Everyday Plus and Pro are paid subscriptions. We think you deserve to know exactly how that works, so this policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have, in plain language.
The short version
We never sell your personal information.
Your financial inputs never go to advertisers. Budgets, debts, income, valuations and saved research are used only to run the tools for you.
No ads on our Everyday tools: Current Events, Macro Health, Data Navigator, Personal Finance and Calculators, plus your Saved Bank and Settings.
The only ads are on loading screens in Institutional tools for free accounts. They're contextual (based on the page, not on you), and personalized ads only run if you say yes.
You choose where your work is saved: on this device (private to your browser, free) or in the cloud (3 saves free, unlimited with Everyday Plus or Pro).
Payments for Everyday Plus and Pro are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
You can download or delete your data at any time from Settings. Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription.
1 Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
Data type
What it includes
Why we collect it
Account information
Name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash)
To create and manage your account
User preferences
Account type, app settings, theme
To personalize your experience
Financial inputs
Tickers, financial figures, model assumptions, budgets, saved analyses, WACC presets, screener configurations, retirement plans and portfolio holdings. Items you save "on this device" stay in your browser and are never sent to us; items you save "to the cloud" are stored in your account. A saved Personal Finance snapshot keeps your summary numbers; a saved Retirement plan or Portfolio keeps its full inputs, including account balances or holdings, so it reopens exactly as you left it. The app tells you this before you save.

To improve the Service
Information collected automatically
Server logs: Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard request logs, including IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and errors. We use these for security and troubleshooting.
Plan usage counts: Counts of how often you run certain features (for example, monthly analysis runs), and your last sign-in time, so we can apply the limits of your plan.
Advertising data: On Institutional loading screens that show ads, our advertising partner may collect device and browser information and, only where you allow it, use cookies. See Section 4.
We do not currently run third-party product analytics or session-recording tools.
2 How We Use Your Information
Providing the Service: Signing you in, running your analyses, and saving your work across sessions
Billing: Managing Everyday Plus and Pro subscriptions, including renewals, failed payments and cancellations
Supporting the free tier: Showing advertising on Institutional loading screens for free accounts, as described in Section 4
Improving the Service: Fixing bugs and improving features, using aggregated, de-identified information
Security: Detecting and preventing fraud, unauthorized access and abuse
Communications: Service emails such as account confirmation, password resets and security alerts. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
Legal compliance: Meeting our legal obligations and enforcing our Terms of Service
We do not use your financial inputs, model outputs or research work for advertising or behavioral profiling.
3 Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers that help us run the Service, and only what each one needs:
Provider
What they do
What they receive
Microsoft Azure
Hosting and database
The data we store, held on our behalf
Stripe
Payment processing for paid plans
Your email address and the payment details you enter at checkout
Resend
Sending service emails
Your email address and the email content
Our advertising partner
Serving ads on Institutional loading screens
Device, browser and page information. Never your account details or financial inputs.
Financial data providers
When you request market or economic data, we send your query (for example, a ticker symbol) to the relevant data provider. They do not receive your account information.
AI model providers
If you use AI features with your own API key, your inputs are sent to the AI provider you chose. We do not keep these conversations beyond showing you the result. Your use of AI features is also covered by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
News publishers and other content
Current Events shows headlines and thumbnail images from news publishers and links to their original articles; we don't reproduce the articles themselves. Thumbnail images load directly from the publisher's servers, and anything you open or play is served by that publisher under its own privacy policy. Links we send you to carry a tag identifying Financial Research Suite as the referrer. Demo videos in the Welcome Center are served from our own storage, with no third-party video service involved.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order or a valid government request. Where the law allows, we will tell you.
Business transfer
If the business is merged, acquired or sold, your information may transfer to the new owner. We will give you notice, and this policy will continue to protect your information unless you agree otherwise.
4 Advertising
Our Everyday tools are ad-free. The only advertising is on loading screens in Institutional tools (such as Valuation and Econometrics) for free accounts. We have set these rules for it:
Contextual by default. Ads are chosen based on the tool you are using, not on a profile of you.
Personalized ads only with your permission. If you agree, our advertising partner may use cookies or similar technology to show ads more relevant to you. You can change your choice at any time.
Never your financial data. Advertisers never receive your account details, financial inputs, saved work or Personal Finance data.
Not everywhere. We never show ads on Everyday tools (Current Events, Macro Health, Data Navigator, Personal Finance, Calculators), your Saved Bank or Settings.
Optional. Everyday Plus and Pro see no ads anywhere, and anyone can switch a loading-screen ad to trivia.
Clearly labeled. Ads are always marked as advertising and are kept separate from our own content and analysis. Advertisers have no influence over our tools, rankings or news selection.
Where the law requires it (for example, in the EU, the UK and some US states), we ask for your consent before any non-essential advertising cookies are set.
5 Payments and Paid Plans
We offer two paid plans: Everyday Plus (unlimited cloud saves and no ads) and Pro (Institutional tools without usage limits, plus everything in Everyday Plus). Both are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you enter your payment details on Stripe's secure checkout, and Stripe handles your card under its own privacy policy and the PCI security standards.
We never see or store your full card number.
We store only your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID and subscription status, so we know which features to unlock.
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can switch plans or cancel at any time through the billing portal in Settings, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription.
6 API Keys and Credentials
Some features let you connect your own third-party API keys. Your API keys:
Are stored encrypted at rest
Are used only to run the requests you make in the Service
Are never shared with anyone other than the provider you chose
You can remove your keys at any time in Settings, which immediately stops us from using them.
7 Your Financial Inputs and Saved Work
The data you enter into the Service belongs to you. This includes tickers, model assumptions, valuation inputs, budgets and saved analyses. We use it only to:
Run the analysis you asked for and show you the results
Save your work across sessions (the Saved Bank)
Improve the Service, in aggregated, de-identified form that is never tied to your identity
We never share your financial inputs with advertisers or financial institutions.
If we ever publish community statistics (for example, how average debt or savings rates change over time), they will include only people who choose to take part. We will publish them only as aggregates across groups large enough that no individual can be identified.
8 Data Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures:
Encryption in transit: All traffic between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS
Protected storage: Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and API keys are encrypted at rest
Access controls: Only authorized personnel and processes can access user data
Sessions: You're signed out after 30 minutes without activity (we warn you two minutes before), and every session ends 7 days after you sign in. Anything saved on your device stays there.
Fair use
Heavy calculations, such as Monte Carlo simulations, backtests, optimizers and exports, have generous hourly limits so one person or automated script can't slow the service for everyone. Normal use never reaches them. To apply these limits we keep short-lived counters in server memory, keyed to your account or, if you're signed out, your IP address. They are not stored, not used to profile you and not shared.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us right away.
9 Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your account information and saved work for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do:
Your name, email, saved analyses, financial inputs and API keys are deleted from our systems within 30 days
Any active subscription is cancelled
Stripe keeps transaction records it is legally required to keep, such as tax and accounting records, under its own policy
Server logs are kept only for a limited period for security purposes, then deleted
If a paid plan ends
If your Everyday Plus or Pro plan ends and you have more cloud saves than the free allowance of 3, your cloud saves become read-only for 30 days. During that time you can view and download all of them from your Saved Bank. We email you when this starts and again a week before it ends. After 30 days we keep your 3 most recent cloud saves and delete the rest. Resubscribing within the 30 days keeps everything. Items saved on your device are never affected.
Aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be kept indefinitely.
10 Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal information:
Access
Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion
Delete your account in Settings, or ask us to delete your data.
Portability
Download your data yourself anytime in Settings (Account, then Download my data), or ask us for a copy.
Advertising choices
Decline or withdraw consent to personalized ads at any time.
Objection and restriction
Object to or limit certain processing of your personal information.
California and other US state residents: We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising unless you have consented to personalized ads, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@financialresearchsuite.com. We respond to verifiable requests within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
11 Cookies and Local Storage
Essential storage (always on)
We use your browser's local storage and session storage to:
Keep you signed in
Remember your preferences, settings and in-progress work
Keep your Personal Finance plan, including completed plans and in-progress onboarding, so you return to where you left off
Hold anything you choose to save "on this device", along with your preferred save location
This storage is needed for the Service to work, and none of it is used for advertising.
Advertising cookies (only with your permission where required)
On Institutional loading screens that show ads, our advertising partner may set cookies or use similar technology to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure performance. Where consent is required, these are set only after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time.
We do not use tracking pixels or behavioral analytics of our own. You can clear stored data through your browser settings at any time. Doing so signs you out and clears saved preferences and in-progress work.
12 Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
13 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service, the law or our practices change. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page always shows when the policy was last updated.
If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated policy applies.
